What is the change:

LIVED NAME:

• Enable Lived Name to display on all UCPath pages where Legal Name is not required

• UCPath recommends using a unique identifier like Employee ID (EMPLID) instead of searching by employee name.

• Minimize visibility of Lived Name and Legal Name display side-by-side

UCPATH UPGRADE PUM44:

• New icons on the FLUID homepages

• New homepage selector

• New color scheme on the tiles and navigation collections that helps with visual accessibility

• Global Search functionality

• Recently visited

• Save commonly used searches

• Person and Job content search

What is not changing:

• Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service and general navigation within the system have not changed.

Why is this change occurring:

• To implement the changes required by the UC Gender Recognition and Lived Name (GRLN) policy, UCPath must be on a supported release of Oracle PeopleSoft software.

How this change affects YOU:

• As an inquirer, you will see a new interface when you login to UCPath and select the PeopleSoft Homepage.

• If an employee does not have a Lived Name, the Lived Name will display their Legal Name.

• You will need to understand the new search criteria that, except for a few UCPath pages, have been converted to Lived Name searches.

• Because you may or may not know if the employee is using a Lived Name, how to determine you are submitting requests for the correct employee – especially for those with common names.

• UCPath recommends using a unique identifier like Employee ID (EMPLID) instead of searching by employee name.

How to prepare for the upcoming changes:

• Pre Go-Live: Attend the UCPath system training to learn how to search in UCPath with the new Lived Name and Upgrade changes:

  1. UCPath System Training will be provided by the Campus Support Center via:

     • A Live Zoom Training session for Inquirers on June 16, 2023 11:00am – 12:00pm (which will be recorded and posted to the CSC website for those that cannot attend)

     • A Live Zoom Training session for Transactors on June 16, 2023 3:00pm – 4:00pm (which will be recorded and posted to the CSC website for those that cannot attend)

  2. Mandatory Confidentiality Agreement and Gender Recognition and Lived Name Training

  3. Email communication sent from CHRO, Human Resources on June 1

The UCPath Upgrade and Lived Name implementation will Go-Live on June 20, 2023.
